Mental Health Academy

Over the next months-years, I will be creating online mental health courses regarding the main psychiatric diagnoses.

Currently, two courses are available:

“Depression, its true nature: A comprehensive course for mental health practitioners”.

CLICK HERE  for full details of the course.

I have just (mid-October 2016) published a second course, again a comprehensive course on depression, for the general public.

Click here for full course details.

I have over 30 years experience as a medical doctor; 15 years as a psychotherapist; 15 years as the provider of a recovery-oriented mental health service; and I am the author of three books on mental health, including one bestseller.

Over the years, I have learned that the prevailing understanding of depression is seriously misguided, seriously flawed.

A key purpose of this course is to empower mental health practitioners  of all disciplines to understand “depression” far more completely, increasing accurate empathy, empowering through increased knowledge and understanding, enhancing job satisfaction and enriching the experience of engagement with clients.

There are 3 sections in this course.

1. The prevailing view of depression;  2. A critique of the prevailing view of depression. 3. Depression, its true nature.

I will also be creating courses about the other major psychiatric diagnoses like depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, eating disorders and personality disorders.
I will also address anxiety, suicide, self-esteem and many other emotional and mental health issues.
